The OECD opened its doors for the 34 th edition of the Journées européennes du patrimoine, under the theme “Youth and Heritage”. During two days, from 16 to 17 September 2017, the public could visit OECD Headquarters and the historic Château de la Muette.

Following the guided tours in several languages, visitors learnt about OECD and discovered the French history and the heritage of this historical site. They could visit also the Château gardens and discuss with OECD experts during a series of seminar-discussions. In the same time, there were activities for children like a Beekeeping  workshop (the OECD  mainstreams biodiversity into its daily operations).

It was an ideal opportunity for the OECD to promote Better Policies for Better Lives, focusing on the cultural and natural heritage found throughout Europe. Attendance has more than tripled in the past few years, with a record 3400 visitors in 2016.
